JUST ANOTHER DANCE
by Marcia Schechinger
Swallowed in his chest
I hid in his pocket
letting the music play
Like the cooing of an ocean wave
melting me to rest
swirling me into deeper water
drowning me with
a vague sense of serenity
I let go once, but the call
of the quiet drew me back
until my body numbed
He became my shell
and I the heart of his shell
Until the dance was done
