POEMS LIVE BEYOND EVERY GATE
by Jeanne McGee
Poems live beyond every gate
Writing words sometimes just won’t wait
When butterfly wings flutter by
A blue jay chatters his reply
Must write a verse of highest rate
If a poet you can relate
Seeing words would but fascinate
Our friends not know our reasons why
Poems live beyond every gate
Written lines of life don't abate
They are hard to obliterate
Our words live on you can’t deny
And sometimes elicit a sigh
Though for some they really grate
Poems live beyond every gate.
