Volumetric illustrations from paper, looking at which you are transported to another world, a fantasy world.

In contemporary art, you can find a huge variety of new diverse techniques, techniques, and inventions, which young artists resort to in order to express themselves and gain recognition. An interesting approach to illustration for book and magazine covers was found by the young Estonian artist Eiko Oyala.

So, looking at the graphic collages of this master, who has an amazing sense of form, color and style, the viewer is fascinated by minimalism, bright color, an extraordinary imagination and creative approach.

Eiko Ojala (born 1982) is an Estonian illustrator, graphic designer from Tallinn who uses unique technology of paper silhouettes in her work, which she expertly modifies in a graphic editor. Before engaging in the art of illustration, he was engaged in interior design, and it should be noted that he was very successful. And by chance, carried away by an unusual technique of illustration, he became a laureate of the Young Illustrators contest and the ADC Young Gun competition in 2013.

Since then, the works of the Estonian artist have become the covers of many books, and among his main customers are major magazines: The New York Times, New Yorker, Dwell Magazine, Wired Magazine and Harvard Business Review. In addition, his brilliant ideas, well thought out and carefully crafted, are acquired by world airlines, museums, scientific journals, book publishers.
The creative process of the author himself consists in a game with light and shadow, with which he creates a variety of three-dimensional forms and dynamic images. And collages cut out of paper, as well as possible, are subordinate to this innovative idea. The artist achieves the effect of volume by imitating it, namely combining manually cut elements from paper with digital processing.

Contemplating the illustrations of a talented graphic, it is impossible to understand where ordinary cut-out silhouettes are used, and where graphic editors are used. What is interesting at all, the author basically does not use computer 3D technologies. All the shadows in his works are created on the computer manually. Bright color and minimalism of Eiko's incredible illustrations amaze with the depth of the transmission of images and characters. But the most important effect lies in their volume and layering.
During his short illustrator career, which began in 2012, Eiko Oyala, living in Estonia and New Zealand, holds several major solo exhibitions every year around the world. And today, on the account of a talented illustrator, who was able to visualize complex ideas so vividly, many different prizes and awards received at international competitions.
