A MAIDENS DELIGHT
by Dartherino
Return with good reason,
Oh fair weather season,
For the ships are sailing away,
Into the light of the new day.
Return fair sweet maiden,
Though your heart's heavily laden.
For on this uncertain day,
Please hear me when I say...
I'll find a way to light the dark path.
No mournful scorn or dull aftermath.
We will whistle soft sweet tunes,
As we stroll o'er hill and dune.
So, return oh sweet Mistress
Free from pain and deep distress
Your path is now straight and clear,
You may walk once again without fear.
Released from the shadow,
Freedom's cry drowns the sorrow.
We'll light the dark days,
No more wintery haze.
Oh, sweet maiden fair,
Let you scent fill the air.
